If you login using a Host account, and go to the Host Settings page in the Host Menu, you will see the DNN version at the top.  The version will dictate how to fix this issue.

I cannot login as a host, I cannot login at all - there is nowhere to enter the name and PW. The login url has been altered and there are no form fields to be found for entering the site.

You need to get into the Portals table in the database and remove the value for LoginTabId from the row for your portal, make it null. Then reset your IIS site (make a change to the web.config file) and reload the site. then go to

http://website/?ctl=login

Are you sure Chris?  It sounds like someone has modified the Login control itself.  Although I may just be misreading this, or looking to far into it.

OK, I've also been informed that we have a tape back up of the server - so I can I just re-load the site to a date prior to any changes that were made right? I'm a tad hesitant to do anything in the DB as I am a newb to this and don't want to mess anything up.
