Here is the full error:

Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.

I have gone step by step through the setup for installation on my local (development) machine and even started all over. I get this error when I try to test the database connection in the installation wizard. I am using SQL Express and have setup all the appropriate users and permissions. Please help!! thanks in advance

Hi, I got this error when I tried to skip the wizzard and use a configured web.config instead.
What helped me was to disable the wizzard in the web.config already.

How come when I change the machine key do my logins no long work?
