I've just installed DNN v4.08 for a new site, my first DNN experience.

After discovering that GoDaddy was a poor choice of host and that their support totally stinks and their auto install doesn't work ...

I have DNN running and am loving it! To the problem ... I've added the blog module to a page, then added the blog-list from that existing module to the home page. The blog listing shows up as does "View all recent entries", but clicking on the links produces a page refresh and nothing more. Is this a known bug or am I screwed up somehow?

Is there a URL for the page?  The blog entry should appear when you click either the title or the Read More link if the post is long enough to be cut off.

The URL is HERE. The Articles List is a child of the page at menu item Articles page.

... and thanks for your attention to this.

Hi Chuck,

The issue you're facing is almost identical to the issue David was facing yesterday.  I just checked and the solution I suggested for his problem should work for you too.  You'll just need to change EntryID to BlogID.

You can follow the link above for details and a link to a video where I showed how to implement the change, but basically, you just add an entry to the Friendly URLs in Host Settings.  You'll need to make sure the entry you add is above the default DNN entry which has a match that looks like this:  [^?]*/TabId/(\d+)(.*) .  You can do this by following the method I showed in the video or by editing the siteUrls.config file directly.  Your Match and Replace With values would look like this:

Match: [^?]*/TabId/36/BlogID/(\d+)(.*)

Replace Wtih: ~/Default.aspx?TabId=56&BlogID=$1

Again, you'll want to make sure this entry appears before this entry [^?]*/TabId/(\d+)(.*).  If you don't, your match will be ignored.

HTH,

Don

PS Give metaPost a try if you haven't already.  The Community Edition is free from Snowcovered and if you like it be sure to tell your DNN friends!

That did the trick for the Webmaster's Corner (that single blog). That's all that's needed for now. I was hoping for the more general ability to duplicate "recent blog" entries on the homepage with working links for any that appear at the time. But, for my immediate purposes that works great and Thanks!
