Why is it that the FckHtmlEditor keeps reformating my code and how do I stop it.  If I go to source view and enter my own source in the Html module the editor just replaces it with all sorts of rubbish thats if it doesnt delete bits of it.  I have to say Im not a beginner programmer but Im getting to my end with DotNetNuke. I been trying to get a site up and running for over 2 months now. As fast as I fix something the next thing is broke or plainly doesnt work.

Every WYSIWYG editor has its own set of rules that it wants to follow.  The FCKEditor is no exception.

I'd recommend you try these methods to see if either of them work for you (without knowing exactly what you're encountering, I can't check myself):

  • If you use the FCK editor and make changes in the Source view, remain in the Source view (this might prevent the editor for "cleaning up" your code)
  • Switch to Basic Text Box (instead of Rich Text Editor), set it to HTML and edit your content there.

It doesnt matter which ever view I use it just deletes and changes my code. To my mind switching to a basic text box should leave you code alone but it doesnt even a disable button would help.

I do know this is a problem with this software as seen below
