Is it possible to link directly to a category?

I have a rather lenghty list of categories and I would like to be able to just send a link that directs the visitor directly to the category rather than the visitor having to select the category themselves.

Thanks.

I am seeking for an answer to this question as well. Is there any chance to get such a link ?

Regards, Tom.

so, you'll need two pieces of information in order to craft a link to a specific category

1. the URL to your page with the Repository module
this is easy :) browse to the page where you have your repository module and copy the address URL from your browser's address bar.

2. the ItemID of the category you want to make the default
go to the host->sql page and type 'select * from grmRepositoryCategories' and execute, find the ItemID value of the category you want

now, all you have to do is add a querystring parameter to the page URL to tell the module to display that particular category. the querystring parameter is 'grm2catid'

eg:
Let's say I am using friendly URL's  and my URL was...
http://www.gooddogs.com/dotnetnuke/Downloads/tabid/57/Default.aspx

and the category id I want to display is 7, then the following link (with the highlighted stuff added) will select and display category 7...
http://www.gooddogs.com/dotnetnuke/Downloads/tabid/57/grm2catid/7/Default.aspx

if I wasn't using friendly URLs, then just add &grm2catid=7 to the end of your URL

Excellent Steve !

Thats exactly what I was looking for. I already found all the category ids but didn't figured the url parameter by my own.

Thank you very much ;-)

Tom.
