Hi

I have a DNN site and I am trying to upload a file that is just under 5MB throught the program under files.

It seems to time out and doesnt upload it. Is there a maximum size you can upload or can I change something so that it doesnt time out?

Many Thanks

In the < httpRuntime > section of your site's web.config file, add the following attribute and value:

executionTimeout="240"

The "240" represents seconds - in this case 4 minutes. The default (when exectutionTimeout is not specified) is 110 seconds for ASP.Net 2.0 and 90 seconds for ASP.Net 1.1. I have been able to upload audio mp3 files of 7 MB on a relatively slow dsl connection with the value of "240".  If you need to upload files larger than 8 MB, you will also need to increase the values for the maxRequestLength and requestLengthDiskThreashold (in kilobytes). These are set to 8192 in the release.config, development.config and web.config files included with DNN.

to edit your web.config file you need direct access to the files on the server, either via remote desktop or FTP
