I'm trying to explain DotNetNuke to a friend, I was wondering if anyone had some help documents to help me? He’s wanting to know that difference between a thread and a reply, and when to use quotes and when not to. Also why are people using quotes. Just about eveything dealing with Forums!
I’ve tried explaining this to him, as best as I know. But I don’t have any documents backing me up.
I’m needing any type of links or documents you can give me asap!
Thanks a BUNCH!!!

Hmmm...  Those are all very basic concepts that are shared among nearly all forums on the Internet.  I am not sure about documentation explaining these concepts, but I will attempt it for you.

Thread - the single instance of a discussion consisting of an initial post, and one or more replies.  Use this when you want to begin a new topic.

Reply - a single post replying to an existing thread.

People use quotes to show that they are replying to a specific statement or post in the thread.  When to use it is up to you.

There is forum user documentation available from the project's home page. It is a bit out of date bu does explain those concepts. I am about half way finished with the 4.4.4 version of the module's documentation. It should be ready when the module is released to the community.
