Steve,

using a different objectQualifier will recreate all tables and other database objects except those starting with "aspnet_", which belong to microsoft Membership Provider, which relies on these names.

Sebastian,

You are, indeed, correct, sir!  Apparently those tables are handled differently from the garden variety DNN tables.  I had no issues with them.  Even though I have a set of renamed versions of the aspnet_ tables, there are no conflicts with PK's or FK's.  So there don't seem to be any issues, so far at least.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mr. Crispy,

You're correct in that I made a backup after upgrading and before renaming.  I decided to barge ahead since I'm quite comfortable with SQL Server.

As I said to Sebastian, I chose a different object qualifier (nuke_ instead of dnn_) and that allowed the database to be filled with all the necessary tables, constraints, sprocs, etc.  Then the Install Wizard went all the way through, letting me set passwords for host and admin, etc.

I had an issue with mscorlib, though, after the installation was finally finished.  Should I post a separate thread for it?  I found a resolution which I did not find in my search of similar issues here.  I'm curious what you lot think.

Thank you very much for responding to my little issue.

Sincerely,

Steve Erbach
