I started installing dotnetnuke 4.08 and when i reached the point that asks me to configure the database connection an error comes up which is the following:

Connection Error(s):
Index #: 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 18452
Message: Login failed for user 'dotnet'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

The SQL manager that i am using is the DbaMgr2K. I checked the security level for my database and is set to "Mixed". I am really stuck here and any help with this will be much appreciated!!

Cp_Morgan,

Have you tried logging in to Enterprise Manager using the credentials specified in the web.config? Are you able to log in to your SQL Server with any other credentials or with Windows Authentication?

Are you using sql express? If you are and you connected to the db using sql tools, read this blog post: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1202/Default.aspx

Hello Ian,

Well, i am using DbaMgr2k as an SQL manager and i am using username and password which i created. Yes i can logon into the server with this username and password. I still dont understand why i cannot login during the install. Something is not ok with the username and the permissions ?

Did you change the connection string in both spots of the web.config file?
