well the spot in the web.config file is like this:

<connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express -->
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=false;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005
    <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dotnet;pwd=dotnet;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
   -->
  </connectionStrings>

the user name is dotnet the password is the same. Now i am not sure about the server. since i am installing it to directly into the server in the connectionstring=server i should put, as far as i know, (local).....Still cannot connect to the database....:(

There are 2 places within the web.config to place that information the first is where you have entered it the second is below that and should look like this

<appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
    <!--<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database2.mdf;" />-->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=dotnet;pwd=dotnet;" />
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=;pwd=;"/>
    -->

Hope that helps

John
