Greetings!

I have a dilemma. I am a part of a project using DNN (DotNetNuke) as a solution. The solution is rather involved and a little complicated. In this solution, controls must be able to access and/or retrieve information from other controls in some way. For example... a search form and then a subsequent result list. I see there are two approaches in the DNN world in having such communications between objects. There is the DNN IMC (Inter Module Communications) and the MultiPage Module Approach (there is a single DNN module that has a dispatcher that loads various user  controls depending on user input/interaction) [described here: http://www.wwwcoder.com/main/parentid/224/site/2050/68/default.aspx]. Has anyone used these two different approaches... and which one is more preferred? Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it!

- Dominic

Here's something I probably shouldn't admin.

I've developed a LOT of modules over the past 5 years, and I have not once done anything with IMC. I always take the approach of loading controls within controls based on parameters, either querystring or session or otherwise.

I use the Multiview control a lot. This works great for me:

So has anyone used IMC? Why would I use IMC over any of the other ways of doing things... MultiPage Module (dynamically load controls via a dispatcher) and MultiViews? Can someone give me a little deeper insight?

Hi. I have also more than 6months experiance and use the control withing control to handle the stuff in place of IMC. Can you suggest advantages of doing the stuff your way or any expert can suggest what is the proper way to do it?
