I have been fooling around trying to get AD to work on my site without success. Now I cannot login to my site at all. It will not let me login with my Host account, nor my admin account. How can I restore my original settings so that I can login? I have a ton of information on my site that I cannot afford to lose.

The AD provider isn't going to stop the Host/Admin accounts from logging in unless you've disabled the DNN Authentication under Admin->Authentication. However, if you comment out all instances of <add name="Authentication".... /> under <httpModules> in your web.config you essentially disable the AD provider.

If you did disable the DNN Authentication by mistake then let me know and I'll double check where it needs to be enabled manually in the database. One table I know of for sure is AuthenticationTypes but I'm not sure if it needs to be set in another table or not.

Also, would you mind letting us know what problems you had getting it to work? Perhaps it's something that can be quickly fixed.

Open the ModuleSettings table in your database and look for the SettingName "DNN_Enabled" and change the SettingValue to 1 or True

Got it.. Thank you, now I am able to log back in....

Here is the problem I was having trying to get AD to work:

This is my error:

Accessing Global Catalog:
FAIL
Checking Root Domain:
OK
Accessing LDAP:
FAIL
Find all domains in network:
Could not access LDAP to obtain domains info
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

This is the information I used:

Enabled: Yes
Hide Login Controls: NO
Sync Role: Yes

Provider: ADSIAuthenticationProvidor
Auth Type: Delegation
Root Domain: co.**.**.**.us
Username: co\myuserid
Password: mypass
Confirm: mypass
Email Domain: @**.**.**.us

All the information is correct, but I keep receiving the errors I pasted above... any thoughts?
