hi

I am using Ventrian Systems Property Agent and need to build an international address form.  i suppose the fact that I use Property Agent isnt really relevent becuase i can can create as many custom fields as i like.

What i need some advice on is what feilds and in what order would I need to create an international address form.  Currently I have a dropdown for all the countries in the world with variuos feilds after it.  Please see below:

Country (dropdown)

County/region/state (text feild)

Town/city (text feild)

Address line 1

Address Line 2

Post code/zip (text feild)

and thats all the information I really need, so has anyone done this, is this the best way or has anyone any better ideas

Thanks in advance

the problem is that some fields like state or zip are required in some countries only and the order to format the printed address varies as well, e.g. in Germany an address would look like

[The company]

[FirstName Last Name]

[Street / postbox]

Zip City

[Country]

Remarks:

  • Either name or company needs to be provided
  • Very large companies and institutions have individual zip codes (not street address provided)
  • Country is necessary for international mail only
