I'm probably just missing something obvious but I need to know how to create multiple modules within a single subfolder of DesktopModules - similar to "DesktopModules\Store".

I'm developing a large number of custom modules that all integrate with each other.  Under the default model each new module would become a separate subfolder of DesktopModules.  It seems it would be better for management of the environment - upgrades, installations, etc. to have all the related modules I create installed under a single folder.

Thanks in advance for steering my in the right path!

Hi Randy,

I happen to have the same experience. The way I see it, it doesn't matter whether you put them all in the same folder or separate folder. But if you're developing custom module solution in one "package", I suppose it's better to store them all in one folder, but then again that's just my 2cents.

I'm not sure about your question, but I suppose you're using DNN VS Templates. In this case, you can just create one module, for example "Store" module. It should create folder Module, etc. If you don't need the ASCX files, you can just delete it. And right now, you can start adding controls/modules by adding new ASCX files as usual.

The important thing to notice here is when you register your module in Module Definition. You had to make sure to choose the correct ASCX files and register it to the "module" you wanted.

I knew it was something obvious I was missing - the Module Definition registration!

This is the challenge of developing in an environment one is still trying to understand.

Thanks so much!
