Hi all pros

I have 5 sites of customer of ours that are having +3GB in database storage location ... actually it is the transaction logg what is that big ... how do you guys go around this ... do you save the transaction logg at all? What kind of risk do you take if you don't save the transcation logg at all ... so far we always have saved the transaction logg ... is there a better forum thread than this for MS SQL management when hosting dotnetnuke ?

There is no need to backup your transaction log if you are already backing up the database itself.  Typically you truncate log upon backup anyway.

As metioned above, the proper SQL Server management structure is to perform regular backups and once each backup is taken you truncate the transaction log.

I have all of my sites backup with a full backup every night, and truncate the log at that time and it keeps the db size quite small.
