Hello,

For some reason my event viewer stopped to work.

I'm having the following exception inside module box:

Error: Event Viewer is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.DBLoggingProvider.Data.DataProvider' threw an exception. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.DBLoggingProvider.Data.DataProvider' threw an exception. ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. and the following exception bellow module box:

Unhandled error loading module.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unhandled Error Adding Module to ContentPane ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.DBLoggingProvider.Data.DataProvider' threw an exception. ---> System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. I'm using version 04.06.02 and no clue how to troubleshoot this.

Thanks

try to clear the event log by running the following statement from the text box in Host :: SQL:

Truncate Table {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog

I have the same problem.

I upgraded to 4.8.1 and use the most up-to-date EventViewer, 2 of my sites. One of the site is OK, the other has this viewer error, the exact message...

If you have any information, please let me know!

I got it to work by deleting my bin folder and transfering the bin folder from the working site over.

Maybe you should backup your bin folder, delete all of the dll files related to DNN that are in the upgrade DNN installation, then copy the dll from the upgrade DNN installation up. This is assuming you got the error from an upgrade. If not, it is still worth a try - just download the upgrade packet from DNN corresponding to your website version. Be sure to backup your current bin folder first. If you want to be safe, backup the whole website and DB.
