Afternoon Folks,

I've now got the first 'sector' of the site I'm working on finished, with the functionality working pretty close to where I want it to be.

But, as I'm getting ready to show this to my boss, I noticed something I'm not really pleased about... The menu, as it currently stands, is not taking into account the Friendly URL configuration which I have setup within the site.  Instead of the extremely human readable URLS which I'm generating, any selection on the menu is taking me to the URL with tabid\# etc in it, which isn't good, because my inline links in pages are pointing to the friendly URL versions and it's causing issues.  Plus, I know he'll jump on the non-friendly URLs...

So, whats the best way to approach and solve this problem and get the menu (and possibly the breadcrumbs although I've got no problem with yanking that functionality from the skin) to have the friendly URLs included within it?

Thanks,
Brian

okay firstly have you enabled the human friendly mode in DDN Friendly URL?
This will give each link a nice heriarchical link...
however this will revert back to tiabid something when there are other query string parameters...

Another option is infinty Freindly URL provider
http://www.ifinity.com.au/Products/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/2/iFinity-Friendly-Url-Provider-for-DotNetNuke/

The above url is generated using that provider,Though if you are running 4.8 I would wait a little while as he is currently sorting a major bug for 4.8

I have friendly URLs set up, and they work fine once you're actually deeper into the site.  The problem is that when you hit the page from the menu (solpart), the tabid\# is present in the URL it goes to, which, throws off all of my child links, since they use that initial page as a spring board.

So, for example, I can manually go here;
    http://localhost/dotnetnuke_2/Sports/College/Basketball/Default.aspx

but when I use the menu to go to the page, it sends me here
    http://localhost/dotnetnuke_2/Sports/College/Basketball/tabid/58/Default.aspx

Both bring up the page, but I don't want the tabid/58 present at all, anywhere...

I could hard code the complete URL path into the links on the page, but that doesn't get rid of the tabid portion of the link from the menu.

Okay I'd recomend moving away from solpart to somthing like housemenu or similar... there are a number of them that are fully css compliant....
Though that doesn't sound like sol parts fault.... out of interest coudl you try the infinity provider... if it provides the same problem then.... you sould change the menu you are using otherwise I'm not really sure what the problem is.
