Hi,
I have a psd file for the web site layout, how to break it down and apply it to dnn skin?
Please give me some general steps so I can follow?
Thanks in advance.

I guess in the first place the easiest method is to just slice it up and create your html. Use DreamWeaver or Firework to do this. Do have a look at how it is done in some of the examples in the portal and see how the skin tokens are placed within the table to deliver the final layout.

I would have a close look at the default skins that come with DotNetNuke and see how they have extracted small graphics files to create the overall look. You can then adapt this technique for your own skin.

The techniques for slicing up an image and turning it into a web page are general web design techniques, so if you search around you will probably find tutorials for static html / css websites. Once you have got to grips with this you can then adapt the techniques for creating a skin within DNN.

I have created a series of video tutorials which covers taking a fireworks design, extracting the images that we need and creating a skin & container right through to releasing and packaging the skin. - It's only available to subscribers, but you can have a read of the issue here: DotNetNuke Skin Tutorials

Hope this gives you some starting points, thanks,

Thanks for the big help.
I can slice the image now.

Have another question:
My site have top(header), middle(content), bottom(foot) three areas.
sometime the middle area need 2 or 3 columns to display content, how to handle this in skin design,
do I need 2 skins for this?
