Hi all,

Can somebody please tell me why when I try to install DNN on my server, it stops other applications from running? This happens exactly when I change the ASP from 1.1 to 2. under IIS.

Kind Regards,

Segun

The change of the ASP.NET version if I recall correctly causes a quick IIS reset to apply the change.

We have a similair problem.

First installation works great www.site.com  on the server we installed another DNN installation though it was installed to portal 1 and for some reason installed as www.site.com/2ndinstallation   We want to be able to brows to www.2ndinstallation.com but cannot to log into it we have to goto www.site.com/2ndinstallation then use the same login and password as the host for the primary site. When we try to setup an instance under IIS pointin to the new location it stops other IIS applications running in different application pools using different IUsers

Is there a single document that describes the best practice way to host multiple DNN on the same server ?

How about Bribary can I pay someone to help us?

Many thanks

Paul

Hi Mitchell,

Perhaps it will help if I explain myself better. We have got two portals under a DNN installation  namely www.domainname.com/portal0 and www.domainname.com/portal1 respectively.

We want to point another domain name to the second portal. So instead of going through www.domainname.com/portal1 we'll use the new domain name. We setup a new website under IIS and each time we setup this instance, it affects another application which runs on the same server under IIS. Basically, it keeps asking us for the admin username and password as if we had windows authentication ticked (which we don't).

After much effort of trying to resolve this, we deleted the DNN instance we just installed under IIS and the other application was up and running again and we can't seem to see why this is affecting other application. Bearing in mind that it has a separate app pool.

Any idea?

Thanks
