This will sound terribly newbish, because it is.

>>What do I do to make my emails work?  We have the domain registered, the site loaded, and are working out some dtails, but I do not really understand how email works, so I am not certain what information I need to enter.  Our domain and hosting is through Crystaltech, and our site is www.northstarcamaroclub.net .  The mail overview on the control center at crystaltech says:

Mail Server:  MailA11

Username:  nccnet@northstarcamaroclub.net

Password:  ********

List Serv:   None

None of that looks like the smtp address that the site settings is asking for.  Still a lot to learn about that yet...

>>Another thing, I have the main site setup as the parent portal, and it has two child portals (a forum and a store).  Do the child portals get their own logins/passwords?  I want to have the forum and the store as open enrollment, and the main page as assigned login/passwords for active paid club members only.  There will be several pages on the parent portal that are only applicable to the local paid club members, but we still want camaro afficionados around the world to be able to participate in the forum and store without having access to our paid areas (which will not be public registration).

>>One more quick question, how do I add a tiny icon for the browser to display like DNN has above?  It would be nice to have a small icon for bookmark as well.

Oh, and please let us know what you think about the site.  This is our first attempt at this.  The site we are replacing is a frontpage site at www.northstarcamroclub.com

Thanks.

The SMTP server is probably MailA11 (it's probably local to the webserver, so it's named instead of using IP/DNS).

Every portal (child or otherwise) has its own users.  That seems to be what you're wanting.

Create an image named favicon.ico in each Portal's folder, and DNN will use that for bookmarks and the like.

Hope it helps,

You were correct, and now it works.  Thank you.  I will expirement with user registration at the child portals to make certain things work the way I want them to.  I will try the favico.ico trick you mentioned.  What size should it be?

Made a favicon.ico, but the site is not using it.  Where do I enable it?

Nevermind.  Gotta clear the cache for IE and restart it.  You have answered this batch of questions, I am certain there will be more....
