Hi Ian,

Thanks for your help with this! Well, I was able to point to 2.0, howeve, receiving another error related to SQL 2005, even though I have SQL 2000 installed. Perhaps it's the web.config file and the entry I made?

 <appSettings>
  <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
  <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"/>
  <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=******;Database=dotnetnuke;uid=******;pwd=******;"/>

Error:

(provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Looking at the chunk of your web.config that you posted the default connection string (that points to 2005 SQL Express isn't commented out while the line that points to your server is commented out.

Also, I've edited your connection string so that your username and password aren't visible.

Chris,

You're welcome - and I'm glad you got your ASP.NET version straightened out. Were you able to get your connection string fixed? As was mentioned earlier, you should just need to switch which connection string you're using. If you are never going to use SQL Server Express, you  may find it helpful to remove the Express connection string from the web.config file....that way there isn't any confusion about which one to use!!

Good luck!
