Hi Everybody,
Thanks in advance for the assistance!

My latest DNN project involves a single portal which has a home page and about twenty "department-specific" pages each of which is maintained by a different person in the customer's organization.  On each of the department-specific pages, I currently have an event module and a text module both of which can be viewed by everyone but can only be edited by the manager of that specific department.  The managers use these controls to post events into their department's event calendar and write short articles applauding their department's accomplishments.  Each manager is responsible for his page's content and everyone is very happy with this arrangement.

On the home page, I have an additional event module which I am going to configure to gather the events from all of the other event calendars.  No-one will have edit rights to this home page calendar but each department manager will be able to contribute to it by adding events to their own department specific calendar.  I'm pretty sure that this will all work based on previous experience with DNN and what I've read in the help files.  Which leads me (finally) to my question...

Does anyone know of a user-defined module which works like the standard text module, but allows its contents to be posted to an announcement module on a different page?

I want to put an announcement module on the home page and I want it to function like the home page calendar I described above.  The department managers therefore wouldn't have the right to add or edit content to the home page announcement module directly, but could contribute new announcements by "pressing a button" on the text module on their department specific page.  That way, the home page could serve as a consolidated presentation of the information gathered from all of the departments while each department page remains under the absolute control of its department manager.  Further, the announcement module could preserve previous articles in its history while the department managers clear their personal text boxes to write something new each week.

Thanks again for the help!
Peace,

Colt

I am not aware of anything out there that does this, but overall it would be pretty easy to implement.

Colt,

Search for the (free) Efficion Articles module (which I don't think is being maintained anymore) or the Ventrian News Articles module.  There's also a 3rd party Announcements module replacement which can aggregate announcements (but overwrites the core DNN Announcements module).  You might also be able to do this through customization of a user-defined table.

I suggest to have a look at Magicnews from www.portalfabrik.net

The DNN Events module will let you aggregate other event modules into one display. So you should be able to place an Events module on the home page and include other Event modules in its display.
