Is there a way to prune users on DNN 4.5.1? I have almost 2400 registered users on my site and I'm sure lots of them have not logged on in several months. I'd really like to just be able to clean out some of the non active members. Is this possible?

You'd have to do this via SQL queries (if you really wanted to do it) - I recently did something similar.

I would only suggest this if you are familar with SQL and the DNN table structure - there are a lot of tables that will reference the UserID, plus you have to make sure you wipe all the records in the aspnet tables too.

You'd have to start off by SELECTING your users (so you get a list of UserIDs to delete) based on Log in date, and then pass this list into a series of DELETE statements on all the associated tables. I would definitely back up before you start ;)

There's a query in the Simple DNN SQL section on Smart-Thinker.com, but it may be a little out of date.

If you are looking to cleanup the users that are registered but not authorized, IE users that have not validated their account, you can do this easily via the DNN interface.

When logged in as Admin or Host, go to the User Accounts page, then select the Delete UnAuthorized Users option.

If you are looking to remove other user accounts, then I would look into the SQL route, but as Rodney mentioned you must be VERY careful with this, especially if you have data that has been input by the user.
