I am trying to install DNN (with SQL express , windows 2000)

I have followed these instructions:
http://seablick.com/blog/tabid/53/articletype/articleview/articleid/71/a-newbies-guide-to-installing-dotnetnuke.aspx

which are basically:

1. Download the .zip file from dotnetnuke.com
2. Create the Database, SQL Server Login, and Database User
3. Create the site folder and unzip the downloaded .zip file. (also edit web config)
4. IIS – create virtual directory and set-up

I am stuck on this bit:

5. Run the DNN install wizard in your favorite web browser to complete the installation process.

The install wizard won't start. (page can't be found/doesnt exist error) Doesn't even open up when clicking on installwizard.aspx directly from windows explorer

* I am trying to induce the wizard directly from the server (//localhost / my IIS name - tried many combinations)

* I have also added ASPNET in the security tab (in properties on the dnn website folder with read write permissions - although I did this after I had done the IIS bit - maybe I should re-do the IIS bit again? or perhaps this is not an issue?)

any ideas?

regards,
mark

further to the above....

I am wondering if it could be anything to do with my authentication.

When creating the database, I don't think there was an option for 'mixed mode authentication' so I selected 'windows authentication' instead.

However, DNN is installed on our development server - and this uses windows authentication, and this is working ok.

How can I get the database server to run in mixed mode authentication? If indeed it is a pre-requisite?

First, you can't click on an ASPX page in Windows Explorer and launch it.  Second, you use the default.aspx file.  Open your browser, browse to your site where you copied the installation files and you should be directed to the default.aspx automatically.  The first time you access it, it runs the installation.

Thanks.

resolved now, re-did my permissions in website folder (for ASPNET)

but then also had to change web.config file from Integrated security = SSIP to  Integrated security = true
