Thanks for your help.
I was planning to develop a portal for some clients of mine. The problem is that some of them are large corporations with their own hosting servers.
As I am new to the DNN technology, I was under the impression that I would be able to create a portal, compile it, and upload it to the hosting server and deal with it myself.
Apparently I was underestimating the product requirements. Now, it looks like this approach would not be feasible, after all.
I would need a DNN specific host, and this would be a big limitation. The DNN product appears to be very good and it seems to be the ideal solution to me, but this hurdle seems to be too big.
Another problem I am having is that, to give DNN a try, I installed it in my laptop PC, which already had Visual Studio 2005 installed. After several tries, I could not compile and run the product. I installed the full source code files. It gives me compilation errors. I searched for them in the DNN forums, but was no able to solve them. So, I could not see the product running yet.
I also tried the Starter Kit, but it did not work either. Could you give some hints here, so I could at least see the product running once?
