Hi,

While I try to add a new local definition (Dutch) I'll receive the following error:

A File Operation Failed. Please Check Resource File Permissions So Files Can Be Edited.

I searched in the forum and on the internet for a solution and the only one I found is that the 'network service' account should have correct permissions.

The account has full control on the whole dotnetnuke directory.

Any other ideas..?

  • which OS are you running
  • did you check permissions for all subfolders, especially App_GlobalResources and all App_LocalResources folders?

I am running it on my development laptop. The OS is win xp sp2.

The error mentioned in my original post is a result of the following:

When I install the dutch language pack it shows me:

StartJob Creating/Updating the Locale
Info Creating Locale: Nederlands
Warning ...
EndJob Creating/Updating the Locale

where can I see what the warning message is?

The 'network service' account has full control on all folders including subfolders ....

Thanks, Hornox

Skip the "Warning...", it has been caused by a code change in ~ 4.8.0 and has not been fixed due to the fact, that the installer has been completely rewritten for DNN 5.0.

I've just hit exactly the same problem and got round it by deleting the locale from the existing list before loading the language pack. That did the trick for me.
