Just a note, if you read the readme file in the Documentation folder it says:

- .NET Framework 2.0 must be installed
- unzip package into C:\DotNetNuke
- create Virtual Directory in IIS called DotNetNuke which points to the directory where the DotNetNuke.webproj file exists )
- make sure you have default.aspx specified as a Default Document in IIS
- rename release.config -> web.config
- SQL Server 2000 or 2005

Note that it tells you to make DotNetNuke, not DotNetNuke_2, which added to some confusion during setup.

Thanks!

I just tried to install this and followed all of the instructions. The error I got was ScriptModule has already been defined: Line 83. I had to comment out the following lines to get this to work:

<add name="ScriptModule" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptModule, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" />

I have successfuly installed the portal and run through the install wizard. I hope that what i commented out doesn't come back to haunt me later on

Please read my post. It had not been working before I commented something out.

So does it work now?
