I installed DNN 4.8.0 on IIS 6.0

I built a virtual directory under Default Web Site - It works great.

Now i installed another site ,but built a web site in IIS which use port 81(or any other port) - after successfull installation,i can see the Home page but clicking on any other links resolve 404 problem.

Why?How to resolve it?

Assuming another DNN installation, do you have the port in the portal alias entry, as in www.mysite.com:81?

I also have same issue IIS and olny am running just one site.

Iwhen sw. to port 80 everything works fine but going to login ect, on port 81 olny main page functions.

My isp blocks port 80 but my top domain name vendor set up relay service for it.

If i hack the failed url to add in port 81 it will take me thru the login, seems any sub menu's are not passing the http://192.168.1.5:81/whatever  to the next sub page.

tnx

I've noticed this on my DEV systems.  I'm definatly not certain on this, but it seems DNN's string builder or URL builder could care less about ports when it builds links

Even if in the aliases you put :portnumber, it strips them out, which gives you the 404 error.  a good way to see this would be to establish a non-standard portal alias, like www.mydomain.com:69 then in the host portals menu, click that link.  Watch your address bar, it rewrites with the port number stripped out, which in turn doesn't serve up the website.

I'm nto sure if a differnet url writter provider or something exists, but that is whats gunna be required i think.

Let me know if you come up with something , cause this would be very handy for my Develpment server, to have many differnet full installs running.  1 for skins, 1 for modules etc etc.
