Ok,  maybe I'm not doing something right but I can't get the module to work as it states it works.  Here's the situation:

1)  I have a forum module on Page 1.
2)  On Page 1's forum, I have added a new group and 2 forums to that group.
3)  On Page 2, I added the existing module from Page 1 (copy) so that it acts like a Parent/Child.
4)  I go to settings on the module on Page 2 to select a Default Group and Default Forum but the forums that I created are not listed (there are groups listed in the forum setting) and they are grey'd-out (inactive), so I can't select them anyway.

How do I fix this?

I am not sure what you want to do.  If you like to do an existing Forumgroup viewed to a other page, so follow thies steps.

  1. Make the new page
  2. Add a new Forum Module
  3. go to the Module Settings and add there in the advenced Forum settings the group of the Forum you like to view.

There is a new Manual since any weeks on the Forum Proct download page ( http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Development/Forge/ModuleForums/Downloads/tabid/823/Default.aspx ) think this helps you.

Kind regards

Matthias

Read the documentation and I believe I have discovered a bug...here's what I did and if anyone wants to login to my site and see what it is doing I will provide you with a login upon request...

1) Have a page that I created that has a new Forum Module on it...I created a bunch of forums inside of the module (52 to be exact)

2) I have 52 pages that I "Add Existing Module" from the Forum page so that I can use the default forum feature.  I set the default forum.  When you first navigate to the page, all of the forums are displayed (which is a bug).  If you go inside the settings of any module on the page and then return to the page, only the default forum is displayed (which is correct).

3) Any questions? :)

Did you have try it with the default skin what is delivering with dnn?  I did not have the problem on my Portals, and here on dotnetnuke.com it works too.  So it can be part of some special code in your skin.

Well, I did try the default skin that ships with DNN with no luck.  BUT, since you say it could be something with my skin it also could be interfering with another module on the page (I have 2 AJAX modules on the page).  So, I'm going to try it on a fresh new page and make sure it works.  But as a work around, I did this...

I created groups instead of forums, and placed my individual forums inside the new groups.  Then set the default group on the page and it worked great!  Actually better than if the default forum would have worked for me because now I can place multiple forums on each individual page.

Thanks for the attention and I'll try to report back to let you know if it was my modules that were causing the problem
