I have a server and have been able to install 4.8 prior to today.  But now, I need to install not one, but two different instances of DNN on the server and each URL/installation gives me

Installing Database - Version 4.4.0...FAILURE null - null

I cannot find any suggestions to fix this except to run as dbowner  and so far that has not worked, either.

The installation tests positive for connection, by the way, and only hangs when the database scripts are beginning to install

I am curious as to why you need 2 separate instances of DNN, but are you using two separate databases as well? Each database should have a different name and different user to ensure the proper settings are used. I don't think it is a good idea to separate the dat between  two objectQualifiers because there might be issues with sharing the membership provider. We tried thiis a long time ago and ended up using one instance.

I honestly don't recall what happens with two DNN instances but I'm sure we will find out.
