hi thanks to all

dnn 04 08 i installed in my machine.in local host everything is working.

my port number is 80.

after completing my web design i changed this port no 80 to 8000 that time i am getting an error like

This program cannot display the webpage
  
   Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
 
   What you can try:
     Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected. 
 
     Retype the address. 
 
     Go back to the previous page.

if i will change port no as 80 it will work properly why??
using this port no we have some other website.that website working properly.i stopped that web and applied that port no here???can anybody help me?

port no changed 80 to 8000.
domain name also changed

Try this:

In web.config, find

<!-- set UsePortNumber to true to preserve the port number if you're using a port number other than 80 (the standard)
    <add key="UsePortNumber" value="true" /> -->

and uncomment the line.

I'm not sure if this will work. I've never used another port before.

i uncommented <add key="UsePortNumber" value="true" /> .but still no problem.

http://localhost/Default.aspx working
http://localhost:8000/Default.aspx  not working

my webname is www.afticomtest.com.

my web directory in c:\dnn0408 folder

i changed tcpport no only.i am using windows server 2003.

dear friend thank u very much .i corrected this pblm .i added one portalalias in host settings then it is working.

again i want help
now i added port alias 192.168.151.15:8000 in host portals.it is working.
my dnn web name in iis is www.afticom.com.
so i added www.afticom.com:8000 also as port alias.
when i call http://www.afticom.com:8000/ i am getting an error like
