Hi Kevin,

I'm not sure if it's a Map module issue, but in using one on a site all of a sudden it went dead. I had set it up and I had upgraded DNN to the latest version as well. To be honest I can't remember which I did first: install Map or upgrade DNN. Anyway, the module now sits there saying 'Loading ...'. I did a Fiddler analysis on this and compared it to a healthy Map module. I found that the erroneous one sends out a single call to maps.google.com and not the subsequent ones I saw on the healthy ones:

GET /Region/tabid/80/language/en-US/Default.aspx HTTP/1.1
HTTP/1.1 200 OK

I'm not sure how to go about debugging this one. Server is regular Win2003. Any ideas

Peter

This is very strange. I haven't been able to duplicate the problem on my local 4.8.1 installs. Is there anything specific about the install configuration that may be causing issues?

I'll keep hammering this installation to see if I can find anything. It is on a SQL 2000 box while a working version was on a SQL 2005 box. I cannot see the relevance of this so discard for now. I'll keep digging.

I think I found something. In the 'Interface' settings page there's a rich text box for 'description' for the primary point on the map. I entered the following:

Hotel La Clef des Champs
Neuch'Evasion

This reappeared in the page source as follows:

 function mapReadFailure415(result,ctx) { DATA415=result; Map_FetchEnd(415);}
 var SHOWTIMER415 = false;
...
    var CZOOM415 = 4;
    var XZOOM415 = 4;
    var DDESC415 = '<p>Hotel La Clef des Champs<br />
\nNeuch\'Evasion</p>';
    var DZOOM415 = 4;
    var DICON415 = 0;

etc. As you can see the output JS is erroneous. First the linebreak was transmitted and secondly the apostrophe. It looks like the DDESC needs to be encoded to make it through. I removed the linebreak and apostrophe and it's working. I don't have the ability to add an entry in Gemini so you'll have to do this.

Cheers,

Peter

Peter,

I know this is an old thread, but this helped me out today.  I didn't play with the code itself, but set the editor to "basic Text Box" and just edited the HTML code directly.  The Rich Text editor did not parse out my line break properly.

Once I edited the text, all was well.

Thanks.
