Hi..

I have made a custom edit profile page, but when i use UpdateUser() it don't update content, if the content is removed.. eg. txtTelephone.Txt = ""
The code work if I change the content of the textboxes, as long that there the value not is a empty string

what can I do, to ensure that the empty field is written to the database? Im using DNN 4.5.5

Codesnip example:

            dnnUserProfile.Cell = txtMobil.Text;
            dnnUserProfile.Fax = txtFax.Text;
            dnnUserProfile.Unit = txtFirmanavn.Text;
            dnnUserProfile.PostalCode = txtFirmaPostnummer.Text;
            dnnUserProfile.Street = txtFirmaAdresse.Text;
            dnnUserProfile.City = txtFirmabynavn.Text;
            dnnUserProfile.Country = txtLand.Text;

            dnnUserInfo.Email = txtEmail.Text;
            dnnUserInfo.FirstName = txtFornavn.Text;
            dnnUserInfo.LastName = txtEfternavn.Text;
            dnnUserInfo.DisplayName = txtFornavn.Text + " " + txtEfternavn.Text;
            dnnUserInfo.Profile.FirstName = txtFornavn.Text;
            dnnUserInfo.Profile.LastName = txtEfternavn.Text;

            dnnUserInfo.Profile = dnnUserProfile;
            UserController.UpdateUser(0, dnnUserInfo);

Hi Boyzs

My problem is not, that the making the lastname.Text  value empty. but nore to delete the value in the database.

Let say that the db value is "Petersen" and I delete it in the textbox. Then when i update the User, it don't update to the empty string.

Best regards

I'm having a similar problem... but not exactly. I just want to update the users's password in code. But it won't update. Here's my code:

objUser = UserController.GetUserByName(PortalId, txtUsername.Text)
objUser.Membership.Password = txtPassword.Text.Trim
UserController.UpdateUser(PortalId, objUser)

Any ideas?

Nevermind I used this instead:

objUser = UserController.GetUserByName(PortalId, txtUsername.Text)

                            If UserController.ChangePassword(objUser, objUser.Membership.Password, txtPassword.Text) Then
                                'Success
                                PasswordUpdated = True
                            Else
                                'Fail
                                PasswordUpdated = False
                            End If
