Matthias:

Don't worry, no harm done.  The thing is that I am also frustrated with the same answers and the update to the Gallery is way overdue.  There are only a few people that continue to use this module as everybody gets frustrated and turn to other solutions, even if they have to pay for them.  I understand the issues with it and would only post a question when it is something I cannot figure out, and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable.

I think you are right that my problems with the module are related to my changes since the albums I did not change still work fine.  I will look in the database and XML files later.  If I find the problem I'll post it.  One interesting thing about it though, whatever the problem is, it does not happen in Firefox, only IE.

And by the way, thank you for your effort in the Gallery project.

Carlos

About Firefox and other Mozilla Browser there are some differnts.  They tray to block some incomming w3c features comming from Microsoft.  So the big problem is, that the developers must get code for the differnt Browsers. At time we work on some issues with Mozilla browsers, what is a hard work.

At time I did not know if you have the Forum Module 04.04.03 running, but I also know some skin issues if the skin have a javascript to resolve transparency images.  The Forum have there own javascript for it, and a double script makes some skin issues.  Perhaps this can help you too.

Carlos,

I appreciate you're taking the time to make clear this is not a confrontational thread. Matthias does tons of work, and not only for Gallery but for Dotnetnuke in general. He's probably just frustrated, but since his mother tongue is not English, sometimes his eloquence comes accross as a harsh affirmation he did not intend to make. He's never unpolite, just sincere. Thanks for suporting him.

While you're right on the stakeholder's importance for the project, you must not confuse the Corporation and its endeavors with the Open Source project, they are related but they are not the same. I am not going to delve into the details that differentiate them, just make a simple point. Projects are still ran by volunteers.

It is an absolute challenge to run a project where it is impossible to determine work hours up front. It causes deadlines to slip, and in general tons of uncertainty. That being said, we do our best to embrace the ideals of giving back. Gallery is almost back on track, and I encourage you to continue to give feedback as soon as we release the next version, which will only be a complete port to .net 2.0.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

I just ran into the same problem. Have you made any progress finding a solution?
