Ok now the trouble seems to be that your sln file references the localhost/DotNetNuke project... mine is C:\DNN\DNN337 and is at http://localhost/DNN/DNN337. I can send you a screen shot if you like but it says "Unable to open Web project DotNetNuke.  I can click Cancel and get out of it.. but then once I am in it I see you have added to the solution the DotNetNuke project which shows unavaliable in my window...

1. How do I correct this?
2. I am running just the install version on my dev machine.. so there is no DotNetNuke vbproj file for me to reference.
3. Oddly the Repository.ascx.vb is in the folder on disk but in the project it isnt listed.. even if I add the item it does not show up... any ideas here?

I am very confused by the various development methods that are avaliable.. some say get source dnn some say get install dnn some say get starter project... I am not a bad programmer and I have been fighting with this thing for hours now just to make a simple code change... I appreciate any help you can offer here..I really love your product and this project but it is tough getting into it for sure.

you don't need the source for DNN at all unless you're going to change the core code. All you need is a working installation of a DNN 3.X web site

if your web site is not located at localhost/dotnetnuke, then you'll have to edit the repository.vbproj file using notepad, change the URL location of the web site, then try opening the solution in VS2003

what is your location? I am on the east coast of the US (NJ), depending on where you are I might be able to do a remote session during the day if that would help
