Installed on XPsp2, only hiccup for me was choosing Custom instead of Auto and it hung. Cleared everything out, started over, install completed fine. The SQL tags are correct, the permissions for ASPNET user are good (I just gave him full control over the DotNetNuke sub). Virtual directory settings look good. I haven't touched VS2005 yet, I didn't want to recompile anything, since all the doco says I shouldn't have to, but I can and am willing.

I go to http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2 and it eventually gives up and goes nowhere. I can browse to other files in the tree, so the IIS permissions seem fine. No errors in the event log, no ASP errors.. where do I start to debug? I tried to go to the Install subdirectory, forget which file, and it told me "DNN is already installed", so apparently it thinks it is installed correctly.

Help?

Q1) In IIS, under website properties, documents, is the default page enabled and does it includes default.aspx?

Q2) Did you try http://localhost/DotNetNuke_2/default.aspx?

Check the IIS log and see what was requested.  Or if a request even hit the web server.

Do you have the site setup using ASP.NET 2.0 or is it using 1.1?

Also, when you say site was setup correctly - were you able to hit the install page from where all the scripts were executed?
