Hi all,

I have set up a dotnetnuke website at http://66.132.167.251. I want to send email from a query form there. I have used the feedback module for the same. Whenever the form is submitted, a message comes as "The message is sent". But it is never sent to the administrator email address. For SMTP server detail, I contacted the hosting provider and they provided me the following details. mail server name : mail.infochange.com. but when i test this the message appears as "Cannot resolve host name." The SMTP server name was used previously for asp.net custom web application and it is working fine there. This issue is only faced in Dotnetnuke. Anybody please help me what to enter in the following fields.

Thanks in advance... Please help as this is an urgent issue..........

"Cannot resolve hostname" isn't a SMTP configuration error, it's a DNS error.

Hi

Do you mean that once I transfer the DNS and host it under a proper domain name then will it start working ?

What about if i want to send mail to domains other than the hosted domain ?

Thanks

If you're trying to send email to a domain that isn't properly listed in DNS tables, or from a system that can't get to those DNS tables for that domain, you get this error.  It means the system tried to find the destination but the destination domain, to it at least, can't be found from a DNS lookup.
