Ok, the last piece of information I need is this:

Is it possible to create a partial class deriving from DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Authentication.Login, which only changes the ValidateUser segment, which I can provide with my AuthenticationService module, and have it drop in there on login service of "DNN_Global" (or, really, any string)?  I had tried a simple Response.Redirect statement in my login control, but that doesn't actually seem to work (redirects to the non-logged in version of the page, presumably because it hasn't gone through the "tell the portal we're logged in" process, but that's done as an event, so removes the control process from the login function ... so presumably that's where the redirect code has to go)

I'm looking to do this all in a way that I can just provide a module zip and it will work.

Thanks again,

Mike

I'll have to take a look at the core code and see if I can't figure out a way for it to work how you want without having to change the core code. I'm up to my eyeballs with other activities this week but if you haven't heard back from me by Sunday evening/Monday morning send me a "nudge" to remind me.
