How to enable the email notifications in the events module. That is On the events module in the backend you can set email

Have you checked the "Allow Event Notifications" option in the "Notification Settings" section of the Event Module Settings?

How can I change the deafult email adrress that comes up?

Hi Larry,

In Events 4.0.2 it uses the email address in the Enrollment Settings. In version 5.0.0, this has been broken out into one in the Reminder Settings section.
