When try to search by pressing search button without providing any word in the text box, it gives an error like crashing the site. Is this a bug or fixing in next release?

If it is search by Author then it is a known issue.

it seems to be due to not checking for null values in search at the code level. Following is the way to reproduce it.

1. go to forum

2. go to Forum Module [Lead: Chris Paterra]

3. click the search button without typing any thing on the search text box.

Then you get the error.
