hi,
i have tried to install dotnetnuke 5.0.0 , 4.9 ,4.8 ,4.7 .** with no Success.
i have given up on dotnetnuke i just could not install it on my server, to many errors in all installation packs.

it's all fine when you install it on a local db(sql express), but when you try to install it on a remote db , all hell break loss .

 Local - works on a local computer can not be use on a server
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

    Remote - this, for some reason, does
Not WORK at any case i have not found .
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Server=(local);Database=DotNetNuke;uid=xxxx;pwd=xxxx;" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

1. i got the never ending loop of "undefined...Success".
2. "Installing Database - Version 5.0.0...Upgrading Database to Version ERROR: See .....\Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider\05.00.00.log for more information...Success" ** and i never found any log file.
3. i tried evrey single thing any one said i passed 45 pages of google search and all the community forums in this site and other sites .

i could not solve any of the error above they all appear when i try to use the remote connection string .

i realy need help .... anyone .

If you were able to install the package on one pc, you should be able to install it on another. Try starting over again on your pc and try to duplicate the steps you completed to get DNN installed on your office pc. Let us know the results.

This is not an answer.  This is an advertisement to sell Engage support / tech / docs.

Try to solve the issue using the info I gave in this thread. I know that it is not the same issue, but at least for debugging purposes ;-)

The part about using the old auto-installer and not Custom or Typical.
