Hi.

I want to store in the dnn db some settings from my module but I need to do that based on the user. Each user will have their own settings for the module.

Can you help me?

Thanks

Maybe you could work out something with this.     If someone else has a better idea, I'd like to know about it.

                    Dim objModules As New ModuleController
Dim username As String = UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo().Username.ToString()
Dim setting As String = "setting for " & username
                    objModules.UpdateModuleSetting(ModuleId, "settingKey" & "|" & username, setting)

And when you need to retrieve the value based off of the username and key...

Dim username As String = UserController.GetCurrentUserInfo().Username.ToString()
Dim something As String = Settings("settingkey" & "|" & username)

I wouldn't try that verbatum... but it's a place to start.

I'm no pro...but I'm guessing you could eventually run into performance issues here if you have lots of users.

Take a look at the classes and methods of the DotNetNuke.Services.Personalization namespace.

Here's one of Michael Washington's tutorials to help you: http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/Personalization/

hi. I tryed :

            Dim persController As New PersonalizationController()
Dim persInfo As PersonalizationInfo = persController.LoadProfile(DirectCast(UserInfo, UserInfo).UserID, PortalId)

            DotNetNuke.Services.Personalization.Personalization.SetProfile(persInfo, ModuleId.ToString, "v1", TextBox1.Text)

            'MsgBox(CType(DotNetNuke.Services.Personalization.Personalization.GetProfile(persInfo, ModuleId.ToString, "v1"), String))

but it does't work. oly works like this:

     DotNetNuke.Services.Personalization.Personalization.SetProfile(ModuleId.ToString, "v1", TextBox1.Text)
             'MsgBox(CType(DotNetNuke.Services.Personalization.Personalization.GetProfile( ModuleId.ToString, "v1"), String))
