I saw this http://www.cmswatch.com/CMS/Report/Vendors/ and wonder why DNN was not on the list? I see Joomla and Drupal under the ones surveyed. I would have thought DNN to be a major player, seeing it being the most used open source web framework used on .NET

Because DNN is not a CMS.  It's a framework you could build a CMS in, but it misses a number of qualifiers to be a CMS, most important is a wrokflow process.  Yes, third party apps can do it, but the report is for content management systems.  Maybe with Cambrian/DNN 5.0.
