Does the links skinobject support RTL or is that just a menu function?

It could be a good work around if it does since you can display the links menu vertically and we've been working on a project with 30+ skins and we implemented some nice affects with the Links Skinobject displayed vertically..

Might not be an answer but thought I'd mention it since we're working on some site that have no menu in them at all.

Hi Nina,
I am not sure what is the links skinobject you refer to.
However' if I take it as simply the Links module in DNN I must say that the automatic tabs update in Solpart Menu is something I cannot give up.
I tried other menus like HouseMenu and Inventua menu but had other problems like the styles are messed up, dynamic mode not working, etc.

The RTL issue is a great pain in many aspects but this one is the worse I got so far since it forces me into a very tight position from design side.

Any tip will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
T.

AAh you mis understand what I'm talking about -

Did you know there are other options to the skins you can use - the Links Skinobject is one of them.

And dont' get discouraged if styles are messed up - you need to first decide if it works for you - a style sheet can always be modified.

The links SkinObject is definitely dynamic - I wouldn't suggest anything that wasn't when talking about menu behaviour and funcationality.

With the skinobject -I've been able to create an active, hover and over state with background images and using some class elements to pad them nicely and they will simply dynamically render the menu at different levels - there is no flyout.

Style 1 of Links SkinObject

Style 2 of Links SkinObject

If it would help I will post my next free skin with this implemented since it's a great way to render the menu in a vertical fashion, without having to worry about two solpart menus.

However, I have not checked the RTL capabilities of this SkinObject - I wonder if it's a css capability? not sure on that I've read about RTL, but only used in solpart menu.

You use the [LINKS] skinobject for this.

I hope this gives you more to work with.

You have a Links skin object that you could get by adding [LINKS] in your skin's HTML and its class is defined in your skin.xml and equivalant in the node for your links if you are working in Ascx something like:-

<dnn:LINKS runat="server" id="dnnLINKS" CssClass="links" Separator=" | " />

We have created skins only using Links and it is naturally much less capable than SolpartMenu but in some cases it is easier to enhance. if you have a good grasp of css. I also love House Menu and some of the enhancements one can do with it is really great. But again you do need to have a good handle on css. RTL requirements is something that very much interests me too. So I need to invest some time in it in not too distant future.

Nina and Salar,
Thanks so much for your tips.
I managed to set the links skinobject to be shown and the style to work. However I can't find any reference to the switches that manipulate its positioning or other behaviors like being dynamic.
Could you refer me to these somewhere?

I'll report about the RTL as soon as I find out.

Thanks
