Hi,

Im using google adsense on my site and there is a Site Authentication setup that needs to be done in Google Adsense, where you need to specify a user id and password for googlebot to login and index pages for better search results.

The information that needs to be subitted to google is :
1. Restricted Directory or URL
2. Authentication URL:
3. Authentication method: -( the options here are : GET / POST  and Plain HTTP)
4. Parameters : ( this is where u need to specify the attributes, the user id / password to login)

I have had a little success with it, when I do a test from google to login to the site with the user id / password it puts the user name correctly but not the password and does not login.

What is the correct Authentication Method to be used and what are the parameters to be passed. I know for user id it is called username, what is the password called.

Thanks
Vishal

I am having the same challenges.

Here is my understanding for the fileds:

1. Restricted Directory or URL
This is the page that is not publicly accessible

2. Authentication URL:
Is the URL for the script that processes the login form.

3. Authentication method: -( the options here are : GET / POST  and Plain HTTP)
This the method for sending the login information to the server

The challenge that we face seems to be multiple:

  1. DNN the login is processed by a post back call
  2. The default filed names contains "$" which Google does not accept...

The question I have is: does DNN support some type of backdore login mechanisme for this type of situation?
