Hi all,

I am considering using the store module for a very small online store but I've never done one before so its all a bit new to me. My main question is, when using PayPal to accept payments, is there any need for using an SSL?

If so, can someone explain why?

Thanks in advance

Paul Hermans

Technically you don't need SSL as Paypal has its own SSL, and all your payment activity is done inside Paypal. However, to gain the trust of your visitors and convert them into "customers", having SSL on for your own domain is recommended.

Hi Paul,

As Sid explain it, you don't need an SSL cerificate with PayPal. Because, the card info are NOT entered on your site but on the PayPal site. On the other hand, it's true that some users are more confident when they can see the use of SSL for an online store, but it's not a requirement with PayPal. If you use the Authorize provider, then you MUST have an SSL certificate because the card info are entered in the Store module and transmit to Authorize.

After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
