Can someone tell how I would go about changing the terms skin objects text, i.e I would like to have "the rules" instaed of terms and then to change the actual terms themselves

Hi Albert,

The Terms skinobject exposes a public property "Text" which you can use to specify any text you want, as <dnn:Terms runat="server" Text="The Terms" />

The terms themselves are a localized resource.  I *believe* they're in App_GlobalResources/SharedResources.resx, but someone may wind up correcting me.  You can use the UI language editor to set them to whatever text you would like.

Hope this helps!

Brandon

I mainly agree with Brandon's solution, except you should not use the text attribute but the appropriate resource key, which can be found in the language editor at /localResources/admin/skins/app_localresources/terms.ascx.resx

The content itself can be found in App_GlobalResources/GlobalResources.resx, which is displayed by default. Scroll down to MsgTerms.text key. you can use the upright arrow right to the textbox  to enter the richtext editor.

If you edit resources in admin :: languages, only current portal will be affected, if you use language editor in Host :: languages, mode "host", all portals will be affected; in both cases changes will be preserved on upgrades.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the correction.  I was not aware that host-level resource changes were preserved across upgrades --  I appreciate the extra information!
