Hello community. (newbie here!)

Ok here is my question:

Currently i am working on the repository module and want to add some extra functionality to it. ( i added a button instead of download link to redirect to another page). I write code right on the .ascx file as I can't have access to the .dll code behind file.

My problem is that this way all repository instances that i put in my pages have the same functionality. Is there an easy way to recreate a copy of this module, name it differently and change the new one's .ascx files so as to have the old repository module and myRepository module available.

I imagine that you will tell me something about the source file of Repository module but please can someone give me more detailed steps as I can't even open the soluton or vbproj file from Visual Studio (problems with source control etc) and also how i combine it with my DNN website (create a .zip file or create  a new module definition???).Also I must notice that I work on Oracle so can't i just simply copy the Modules.Repository.dll and Modules.Repository.OracleDataProvider.dll and create a new module with the same funcitonality (?? conflicts with database?? )
