On my portal (running 4.4) I have a few accounts I use for testing different permissions and one of the users which is an admin was editing 2 modules and after changing some of the text and rearranging them the user now sees all other modules as collapsed.  It looks similar to when the page is put into design mode with no content in the modules.  The ones that were being edited look fine with the content showing, but all other modules sitewide appear this way.

It is almost as if this user is stuck in design mode for all modules except the ones he was editing.  It is not affecting any other users as far as I can tell (test with other users).  I tried changing permissions on this user (like removing him from admin and putting him in different groups to see if it could somehow be reset but no luck.  Deleting this user I don't think is an option because he is a user known by site visitors and I don't want to lose his other content like his blog, and some announcements that were added using this user.

I searched the forums for things like "stuck in design mode" and "collapsed modules" but wasn't able to find anything.  Any ideas on how to get him back to normal

I assume that his cookie got scrambled, ask the user to delete his cookies for your site in his browser.

Sebastian,

Thanx for the input I will give this a try today, but also it seems to be happening from a couple of different computers (i.e. my laptop and desktop).  If it helps the user is actually me; it is just another login that I use.

Sebastion, I did try deleting the cookie and it did not change the behavior.

Is there some way that I can reset this user from the portals point of view and fix the problem without losing all of the content associated with the user??
