Hello,

Im currently in the process of converting an ASP.NET web app's user management from CommunityServer to DNN.  The current code gets user information from CommunityServer like so:

User currentUser = CSContext.Current.User;

My goal is to allow a user to login using DNN, then when the user navigates to my web app (which runs as a virtual directory inside my DNN web site), i would like to access their user information from DNN, similar to how it's done in my example above with CSContext.Current.User.

Is there a method similar to CSContext.Current.User I can use to get the currently logged in users information from outside of DNN?  I have everything running, I just need to figure out how I can share user information between my web app and DNN.

Thanks!

Depending on your exact needs, you're most likely going to use either one of the System.Web.Security.Membership.GetUser overloads, or HttpContext.Current.User.

The choice depends on your specific requirements.

Hope this helps!
